Pupil Premium
WHAT IS THE PUPIL PREMIUM?
The pupil premium is extra money paid to schools by the government to help disadvantaged children achieve more in education. It is given to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:
- registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years
- been in care for 6 months or longer
- or have parents in the Armed Forces.
HOW HAVE WE USED THE PUPIL PREMIUM FUNDING?
This money enables us to make significant improvements in the education we offer at Westfield School, especially for our disadvantaged students. We strongly encourage all eligible parents to register. Please see the reports below which explain how we have used the Pupil Premium and our plans for how to use it in the future.
Our Progress 8 score for disadvantaged students for 2018-19 is -1.1.
How can I register for Pupil Premium funding?
We are aware that not everyone who is eligible for free school meals chooses to claim them. However, Pupil Premium funding enables us to make significant improvements in the education we offer at Westfield School, so we strongly encourage all eligible parents to register their child(ren) for free school meals, even if they do not wish to take the free meals.
You can register for free school meals on the Sheffield City Council website. Parents and carers of students please click here to apply for free school meals.
