School Newsletter
Good afternoon,
As we head into the last few days before the break, there’s still plenty to look forward to, and I know our pupils will finish the half term with the same enthusiasm they’ve shown since September. Thank you, as always, for your continued support and encouragement — it’s what helps our school community thrive.
Information for Parents/Carers of All Years
Sustainable Water Bottles
Thank you to everyone for ensuring that their child/young person has a water bottle that is refillable from our water fountains. We would like to continue to work with our school community to avoid plastic waste and begin to phase out disposable plastic bottles. Thank you for helping us help the environment.
Fire Alarm
Some of our children and young people are using deodorant/spray whilst changing for PE lessons. A reminder that these can cause irritation to those with asthma and/or allergies and should not be used in an enclosed space. Similarly, overuse can cause the fire sensors in school to be activated. We believe our recent fire alarm was caused by the accidental misuse of these products. As you would expect, we treat every fire alarm as a real fire emergency so I know you will support the need to avoid a ‘false’ alarm as this takes up the time of the emergency services and causes unnecessary disruption to our day. There are serious consequences in school for anyone who activates a fire alarm deliberately without due cause.

Sporting Success
Beau continues to excel in her sporting achievements outside of school. She represents the Sheffield Schools U15 football team and also serves as one of three captains at Doncaster Bells. In addition, she maintains her commitment to the Yorkshire Orienteering team — a true testament to her dedication and talent across multiple sports.
The Year 8 boys’ football team recorded an impressive 13–0 victory over Westbourne on Monday evening, securing their place in the second round of the Sheffield Cup. The team delivered an outstanding performance, with notable contributions from Will, Jacob, and Elliot.
On Thursday, the Year 8 netball team, joined by three Year 7 students, took part in their first SFSS Netball League night at Ecclesfield School. The girls played three competitive matches and, although they didn’t secure a win, they demonstrated excellent teamwork and some fantastic netball throughout the evening. A special mention goes to Olu and Esme, who were both named Players of the Match.
