Travel to School
We encourage our students to walk and cycle to school as much as is possible, but we appreciate that this may not be possible for everyone.
Cycling
If you are cycling to school there are bike stores where you can lock up your bike for the day. When cycling to school please dismount when you reach the school and avoid cycling on the school site.
Public transport
Getting to Westfield School is simple and accessible thanks to a range of excellent public transport links serving the local community and beyond.
For students travelling by bus, the 730 service provides a direct connection from Mosborough Moor to Westfield School, travelling via Halfway and conveniently pulling directly into the school car park. This offers a safe and straightforward option for students at the start and end of the school day.
The 120k bus stops outside the school gates and connects Westfield School with Killamarsh, making it an ideal choice for families travelling from that area. Similarly, the 30 bus service also stops outside the school and provides links to Woodhouse and Plumbley, ensuring further convenient travel options.
In addition to bus services, Westfield School is well served by the Blue Tram Route, which stops directly outside the school. The tram connects Halfway through to Birley, offering a reliable and environmentally friendly travel option for students and staff alike.
With multiple bus routes and a tram stop right on our doorstep, Westfield School is easily accessible and well connected, helping students arrive safely, on time, and ready to learn. Timetables are available on the Travel South Yorkshire website.
If you live in South Yorkshire and you’re under 16 years old you can apply for a travel pass. The travel pass entitles pass holders to concessionary travel on bus, tram and train anytime, anywhere in South Yorkshire. You can also buy discounted tickets for young people, which may work out cheaper if you travel regularly.
You can apply online on the Travel South Yorkshire website.
Driving to school
Please drive responsibly when dropping students off from cars. You can drive into the school and pull in to allow students to exit the car. Please be considerate to those around you when doing this. Do not leave engines running as this causes air pollution. Please bear in mind that there can be a queue of cars to enter the school site, so leave enough time for your journey.
