School Newsletter
09.04.26
Good afternoon,
As we arrive at the first day of a new term, we can look back on another busy and rewarding few weeks in school, filled with learning, achievement and opportunities to come together as a community. On Friday 27th March, our school turned orange in support of the Go Orange for Oscars campaign, helping to raise awareness for paediatric brain tumour research and support. We also supported the Alzheimer's Society, both charities are close to the hearts of pupils in Year 8 and Year 11. It was wonderful to see pupils and staff taking part in such important causes and showing their support for children and families affected.
As we end the Easter holiday, I would like to thank all of our families for your continued support this term. We hope the break offers everyone a valuable opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy time together, ready to return refreshed for the start of the summer term. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on 13th April 2026.

Their success reflects countless hours of hard work and commitment, and the whole school community is incredibly proud. With bright futures ahead, this milestone marks just the beginning of their exciting journey in the performing arts.
Well done to Ava, Laila, Bea, Ruby, Bobby and Yasmine.

Get Up To Speed 2026
Year 9 Engineering students from Westfield School recently visited the ‘Get up to Speed’ event at Magna Science Adventure Centre in Rotherham. ‘Get up to Speed’ with Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is a live, annual, careers’ showcase event. Our students visited a variety of employer and higher education stands to learn about STEM careers and gain inspiration for possible further education pathways and careers. The main stage featured interactive shows from Ruth from Kids Invent Stuff and students were invited on stage to attempt Guiness World Record challenges. The highlights were the McLaren F1 car, CBE+ hydraulic crane and the Army airsoft range. Students had the opportunity to have a go at CBE+ hydraulic crane egg challenge. Students had to use hydraulic pressure to operate the crane to grab a chocolate egg and got to eat their sweet treat as a reward at the end of the challenge! Our students took part in ESH Construction group challenge, to build a bridge in under 5 minutes for a remote-control car to travel over. Students had to select three materials from a variety for their bridge build. The group selected bricks, poles and rocks to construct their bridge. Our students were a credit to the school, and a great day was had by all!
